A recent project for a packaging business deployed our revolutionary Hi-Tile flooring to bear heavy loads and ensure easy cleaning, transforming storage at the site.
Three outstanding reasons to install a mezzanine in Ireland
here are three outstanding reasons to install a mezzanine:
A new report from Savills Research – Review and Outlook 2025 for Dublin Industrial and Logistics Market – has pinpointed issues that can be solved by a mezzanine floor:
- “While prime rents remained unchanged in 2024 at €13.00 per sq. ft, guiding prices on new developments indicate that prime rents will likely rise to €14.00 over the course of 2025.”
Putting in a mezzanine allows you to make full use of your existing vertical headroom, expanding your capacity without the expense and inconvenience of searching for new premises.
2. “Improving economic conditions will support consumer confidence and consequently drive demand for warehouse space.”
Mezzanine floors have many uses, from supporting automation to manufacturing, and from extra office space to stock storage. You can install one mezzanine or multiple tiers.
3. “Geopolitical unrest remains a critical factor across the global supply chain, although businesses have proven a remarkable ability to adapt.”
A smart way to adapt and avoid the risks of supply-chain fluctuations is to install a mezzanine to hold more stock , ready to be dispatched to customers when needed.
Hi-Level Mezzanines designs mezzanine floors for every purpose and budget. Delivery and installation are often handled by our network of expert distributors across Ireland.

Booming Irish logistics sector
The Irish logistics sector is booming with key new strategic developments including:
- Lidl Ireland planning to allocate €200 million to a new regional distribution centre in Cork, southern Ireland, for better logistical support. It is part of a €600 million investment over the next five years to open around 35 new stores (expanding from 180 currently) and consolidate its logistical operations. Tara O’Connor, regional managing director for Munster at Lidl Ireland, said: “It is a really exciting time for Lidl, as we look to make a significant investment to future-proof our logistical infrastructure with a new, state-of-the-art regional distribution centre.”
- IKEA Ireland opening a new distribution centre in Co. Dublin, a major landmark in the company’s expansion in the country. This facility, with more than 200 staff, is intended to improve IKEA’s delivery capabilities significantly across Ireland, achieving some of its shortest delivery times in Europe. Whereas previously deliveries to Irish customers were sent from the UK, this strategic shift will see delivery times cut to only three days.
- Amazon launching a new dedicated store in Ireland, Amazon.ie, offering more from Irish businesses, low prices, and fast and convenient deliveries and returns. While many consumers in Ireland already shop on Amazon stores in other countries, this will “offer a localised shopping experience,” Amazon said. It follows the launch of Amazon’s first fulfilment centre in Dublin in 2022, which created 500 new jobs and provides One-Day Delivery on hundreds of thousands of products.
In the words of shipping and logistics giant Maersk: “So many companies are identifying Ireland as an ideal location to do business in as a gateway to the EU, [and this is] showing no signs of slowing down.”
Factors fuelling logistics and warehouse growth in Ireland
- Ireland’s GDP is forecast to increase by 4% in 2025 and 3.8% in 2026 [source: EY].
- Its EU membership means more simplified customs procedures when trading with EU countries – an advantage over the UK.
- Dublin Airport directly serves more than 180 destinations in 42 countries, and around 30% (1.6 million) of the Irish population can be reached within 30 minutes by road.
- The country has five major ports categorised as core/comprehensive ports in the EU’s TEN-T network. The biggest, the Port of Dublin, deals with 15,000 ship movements and 28 million tonnes of cargo a year. It handles 80% of all unitised freight in Ireland and is part of a world-class route-to-market system.
- In Northern Ireland, a new £14 million 50,000 sq. ft chilled storage facility is being built at Belfast Port.
- There are seven ferry routes between the UK and the island of Ireland: Cairnryan to Larne; Cairnryan and Liverpool to Belfast; Heysham to Warrenpoint; Liverpool and Holyhead to Dublin; and Fishguard to Rosslare.
